EYESIGHT
Eyesight gives us the ability to perceive visual stimulations and distinguish the shape, depth, distance and colour of what we look at.
OLFACTORY
Our sense of smell allows us to perceive olfactory stimulations.
TOUCH
Thanks to our sense of touch we perceive some of the physical characteristics of the objects (hardness, shape) that come in contact with the external surface of our body. With wine, the sense of touch involves astringency.
TASTE
Our taste gives us indications on the flavours we eat and drink, distinguishing them in bitter, sweet, salty and sour.
HEARING
Hearing is the sense that allows us to capture the sounds that come from outside our body and send them – through a complex mechanism that originates inside the ear – to the temporal lobe, the area of the brain that receives and decodes them.
